Frequently called "the military capital of the American Revolution" because of its rich Colonial roots to the Revolutionary War. There are significant sites around Morristown that are associated with the American Revolutionary War, like Jockey Hollow, Fort Nonsense, George Washington's headquarters, and Ford Mansion. Morristown sports a quaint, historic side with a bustling, walkable downtown district.

Whether you're stopping by for lunch, heading to the coffee shop, or meeting up with friends, Morristown has it all. With almost 150 restaurants, 20 bars, and about 10 coffee shops, the area is constantly thriving. Some notable places to consider are Jockey Hollow Bar & Kitchen, The Committed Pig, Roots Steakhouse, Urban Table, and Beenie's Ice Cream. Even if it rains, there is plenty to do indoors. The town features an AMC Headquarters Plaza 10 cinema with reserved seating and comfortable, reclining chairs. The Mayo Performing Arts Center, or MPAC, located on South Street hosts a variety of eventslike plays, concerts, comedy shows, and more.

For those seeking retail therapy, stroll down South Street and explore the various boutiques, Enjou Chocolat of Morristown, Inc. chocolate shop, and Just Jersey, a unique New Jersey themed gift shop. Do not miss the 4-story Century 21 department store, located conveniently near the Morristown Green.

Morristown Green, or 'the Green', is a historic 2.5 acre park located in the center of town with several Revolutionary War and Civil War monuments throughout. The area in the past served as a military base, a militia training ground, and an area for public executions. Now, the park is surrounded by the county courthouse, restaurants, shops, and churches.

Downtown Morristown is a pedestrain-friendly community. The Seeing Eye, a guide dog school, is located in Morristown and often uses the town as a training ground for their guide dogs. Street parking often fills up quickly, however there are several parking garages in the area. If you're local, then you might prefer to take the train or bus into town.

Morristown takes pride in its yearly celebrations. The St. Patrick's Day Parade is an annual event, as well as the fall Festival on the Green, so get your greenon and join in on the fun.
